Sumac is useful for soothing coughs.
Ingredients :
- About 7 sumac buds
- 1 cup of brandy or of rum
- 1 cup of honey 3 acres
Instructions :
- Place the sumac buds in a liter jar.
- Pour the brandy or rum into another bottle with the honey and stir until the honey is dissolved.
- Pour the honey mixture into the bud jar to completely cover the sumac.
- Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 6 weeks or longer, and shake the jar regularly.
- When ready, strain through a fine sieve and throw the solids into the compost.
- Transfer your delicious cough syrup to a clean bottle, labeled with the date. Store in a cool, dark place for up to a year.
